Jaleswar, Balasore DistrictJaleswar, a small town in Balasore District of Orissa, is lying adjacent to border of West Bengal. It is a major town in the Balasore district. Jaleswar has four major areas Bada Bazar, Nua Bazar, Station Bazar and Purunia Bazar. Jaleswar is near the West Bengal border. Most of the vegetable vendors from Kharagpur and other parts of West Bengal come to the Monday Market to purchase vegetables at wholesale prices.

From Jaleswar, Digha Beach in West Bengal is 38 km. Chandaneswar Shiva temple is situated in Chandanswar, which is 27 km from Jaleswar. Talsari Beach is 5 km from Chandaneswar. Lakhannath Gara is 5 km from Jaleswar. Some of the prominent pilgrimage tourist attraction sites are Charyasharam, Patharapura, Hanuman Temple, Jagannath Temple, Anukulchandra Temple, Satyanarayana Temple and many other temples.

Raibaniagara, which is having the great historical significance, is also 14.5 km from Jaleswar. Subarnarekha River flows near Jaleswar. Major festivals are occasioned in Jaleshwar are Durga Puja, Basanti Puja, and Ratha Yatra. Jaleswar is mainly connected to Kolkata and Bhubaneswar by both the railway and bus services. The National highway and East coast railway is connected with this small town. This town acts an important connection point to go to Digha and other tourist attraction sites.
