Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary located at South 24 Parganas District, Narendrapur, also known as CKBS. It is positioned at south Kolkata and near Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission. The place is also called as Kayal-r Bagan. This place is famous for the place for birds. This garden is famous for availability of wide variety of birds, butterflies, ferns and orchids. The place is open for public and tourist round the year from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm.
History of Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary
Chintamain Kar Bird Sanctuary lies in pristine splendour just minutes away from the bustling Kolkata metropolis. This bird sanctuary is originally notified as a reserved place for birds of different species in 1982. Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary was acquired for the benefit of the public by Government of West Bengal at a significant cost from private owners in October 2005.
The Sanctuary was named after the noted Indian sculptor Chintamoni Kar, who along with many local people and many non governmental organisations fought for a decades to obtain wildlife sanctuary status for this local garden.

One of the nearest popular place is Narendrapur which is 15 km from Sealdah. It is connected by road to Garia and the EM Bypass. It is 20 km from Howrah railway station
