![]() In this post-apocalyptic future, the human civilisation has been demolished and as a result of it, Ravana, the monstrous being, along with his dark army, threaten to destroy whatever is left of mankind. But the warrior Prince Rama, along with his wife Sitadaughter of Mother Earth, and brother Lakshmana, set off on a hazardous expedition to annihilate Ravana and his demon force. Content of Ramayan 3392 AD After the World War III, nuclear attacks from various sources had almost ravaged the entire world and were segregated into 2 continents, Aryavarta and Nark. Armagarh, the last kingdom of humans is located in the continent of Aryavarta, which is controlled by a council. Dashratha (Dasaratha) is the leader of the council and his four sons, Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughan (Shatrughna), are sent to outposts of the Armagarh kingdom in order to provide support. Bharata and Shatrughan go to the war torn region of Khundgiri while Rama and Lakshmana are sent to the Fort Janasthan, which is a passive region. But they discover a heavy troop of Ravana's Asuras attacking the fort. After Lakshmana is injured in a battle, Rama surrenders to the Asuras so that the innocent people of the fort and move out safely while the Asuras wipe out the Fort Janasthan. Dur to this act of Rama the members of the council get enraged and consequently chastise Rama by expelling him into exile. After Prince Rama is exiled, the Armagarh kingdom gets engulfed into disorder and confusion. Due to all the chaos, Dashratha dies and Lakshmana tries to deal with the rogue elements from within the council who attempt assassination on him to cause an insurrection within the kingdom. Lakshmana escapes to the region of Khundgiri where he meets an old seer Vishwamitra who takes him to Rama. Following the suggestions of Vishwamitra, the two brothers travel to the city of Mithila. As they reached Dandakaranya forest near Janasthan, Rama and Lakshmana meet with an owl who informs them that Asuras had slaughtered all the beasts and only a handful had survived. Rama, along with the others, rushes to Mithila to prevent the Asuras. There Rama and his friends' battle the Asura force and subdue them thus protecting the princess of Mithila, Sita. After another battle with some other Asura warriors, Rama, Lakshmana and Sita escape the region. Meanwhile a group of rebels from Armagarh, led by Sumantra, attempts to end the conspiracy related to the clan of Rama, the House of Suryavansha. The rebels find an Asura named Kalnemi who disguised as a councilor. Later Bharata is captured in Khundgiri. Sumantra along with his daughter and Shatrughan, rescue Bharata and go to Armagarh to eradicate Kalnemi and his associates. Bharata terminates Kalnemi and becomes the first King of Armagarh by ending the reign of the corrupt council. Bharata aims to find Rama and make him the true king of the region of Armagarh. Ramayan 3392 AD Reloaded The initial series continued further with Ramayan 3392 AD reloaded, again written by Shamik Dasgupta and illustrated by Jeevan Kang. The plot continues with Rama, Lakshman and Sita being teleported to the wastelands of the north after escaping from Mithila. Prince Rama is severely injured and is at the verge of death. The new series was made available in trade paperback titled Ramayan 3392 AD Reloaded: Tome of the Wastelands. Ramayan 3392 AD, being an adaptation of the ancient Hindu epic, changes and redesigns several of the central characters adding a new perspective to the ancient Indian literature. Advanced technological themes in the new representation of the Ramayana have replaced the spiritual themes in the original work. |
