Tourism in Deoghar DistrictDeoghar District is a beautiful place for the tourists. In the month of Sawaan (July, August) tourists from across India visit the place to worship Lord Shiva. It is the peak time for tourists. Nandan Pahar, Trikut Parvat and Pagal Baba Aasram and lots of place for enjoyment. It also have a beautiful and mind blowing park known as Jalsar Park located in the centre of the city. It is newly built and has many things to attract almost every section of people.

Saawan Mela
The significance of Badadham increases during the Shrawan month when lakhs of devotees pay a visit to Baba Baidhyanath Temple. Most of them first visit Sultanganj which is 105 km from Babadham.

The Ganga River flows to the north in Sultanganj, and the devotees collect water in their Kanwar and carry the holy water of Ganga on their shoulder. While they walk up 109 km up to Baba Baidyanath Temple at Badadham, devotees recite Bol Ram on their way. The Kanwarias, on reaching the Badadham, first take a dip in the holy river and then enter the temple where they offer the holy water of Ganga to Jyotirlingam. This pilgrim continues for the entire Shravan month, and happens to be the longest religious fair of the world. People from around the world visit the place during this month and also for rest of the year. The sight on the way to Babadham from Sultanganj is of 109 km long human chain of saffron clad pilgrims.

Apart from the great pilgrimage of Shrawan, almost the entire year remains under fair with Shivaratri in March, Vasant Panchami in January, Bhadra Purnima in September.

One of the main temples is Taapovan. This temple existed from the times immemorial.
