Screen Awards is presented every year to the film personalities of Bollywood for honouring their professional excellence. Dedicated to the Hindi film industry, the award ceremony was started in the year 1994 and is held every year since then. The awards are presented under various categories by the film fraternity itself and the nominations and winners are decided by a panel of jury members. Screen Awards is the only award ceremony of the country which has been graced by the Executive Director and the Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
20th Screen Awards
20th Screen Awards was organized to commemorate the best film of 2013. It was held on 14th January 2014 and was aired on 25th January 2014 on Life Ok channel. The grand event was anchored by Shahrukh Khan. The films of 2013 featured some new talents of Hindi film industry who impressed the viewers in their very first ventures. The actresses who gained nomination for Screen Awards for Promising Newcomer Female include Vaani Kapoor for Shuddh Desi Romance, Shree Swara for D-Day, Izabelle Leite for Sixteen and Aida Elkashef for Ship of Theseus. The award was won by Aida El-Kashef.
