Chandogya Upanishad, one of the oldest Upanishad has been written during the Vedic Brahmana period. Chandogya Upanishad is associated with Sama Veda. Chandogya Upanishad is the part of Chandogya Brahaman that contains ten chapters. The 3rd Khanda of Chapter Three of Chandogya Upanishad deals with the Honey Doctrine or Madhu Vidhya of Sama Veda. The western rays of the sun are the western honey cells. The Saman verses are the honey makers or the bees. The ceremonies enjoined by the Sama Veda from the flowers; and the fluids or the water used in their performance are the nectars of the flower. These Samas verses heated the Sama Veda. From it, the reflected, proceeded towards fame, splendour, radiance of the body, sensations power, aliment, vigour of the senses, virility and the food that is eaten. This essence flowed forward and went toward the sun. It then forms what is known as the dark colour of the rising sun.
