The year 1995 marks the beginning at Shree Venkatesh Films, a Production Distribution House for Bengali and Hindi movies established by two-year entrepreneurs, namely Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni. The company continually started to grow potentially towards the entertainment of the audience in every sphere of cinema. As purveyors in quality entertainment, Shree Venkatesh Films has nerved a niche for itself in the domain of film production. The production house was honoured with a National Film Award for its film Chokher Bali in 2004 as the 1st Bengali Feature Film.

Chokher Bali cut across language barriers and won International proclaims as one the finest crossover films of the country. The film was also an official selection at the Chicago International Film Festival in 2003. The film was showcased in more than 25 International Festivals including the London Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Karlovy Vary, Palm Springs, and Washington DC International Film Festivals. The film also won Apsara Film Producers` Award for the Best Regional Film 2004.

The Shree Venkatesh Films aimed at commercial mainstream Cinema, urged towards a new platform, and also attained great success in the film Raincoat after the release of Chokher Bali. Aishwarya Rai won the Zee Cine Award - Critics` Choice Best Actress and Shree Venkalesh Films got the reputation of producing some of the most commercially successful films till date.

Moreover, it also has its home productions with blockbuster films like Bombay, Munna Bhai MBBS, Khamoshi, Josh, Devdas, Company, Baghban, Hungama, Khakee, Bhoot, Tere Naam, Murder, Waqt and Black are some amongst its releases. Shree Venkalesh Films has its own Editing Studio and an Exhibition arm with over 10 theatres under its supervision including all the three multiplexes in the city. The company is growing up to build up the production and distribution activities.
