Myths of Rudra Loka
As per Hindu mythology, there are seven higher worlds and seven lower ones. The higher worlds are the Seven Spheres vyahrtis or lokas, namely bhuvar, deva, mahar, jana, Indra, rudra and marut and the lower ones (the "seven underworlds" or paatala lokas) are atala, vitala, sutala, rasaataala, talatala, mahaatala, paatala.
Rudra Loka is the place dedicated to Lord Shiva completely and is also known as Shiva Loka. As per beliefs, it is the dwelling of Lord Shiva. It is believed that, Lord Viswakarma built Rudra Loka in a dream with golden gems. There is a doorway of lion with two gate-keepers dressed in Shivas way of clothing. It is said that, Lord Shiva along with his consort Goddess Parvati resides in Rudra Loka.
