Rudra Loka is the heaven above the Brahma Loka. This is the seventh Heaven where Lord Shiva resides. It is the kingdom sanctified to Lord Shiva, situated far away from Brahma loka. On the right side of Rudra Loka there is Vaiku??ha and on the left side there is Parvati loka.
Myths of Rudra Loka
As per Hindu mythology, there are seven higher worlds and seven lower ones. The higher worlds are the Seven Spheres ‘vyahrtis’ or ‘lokas’, namely ‘bhuvar’, ‘deva’, ‘mahar’, ‘jana’, ‘Indra’, ‘rudra’ and ‘marut’ and the lower ones (the "seven underworlds" or paatala lokas) are ‘atala’, ‘vitala’, ‘sutala’, ‘rasaataala’, ‘talatala’, ‘mahaatala’, ‘paatala’.
Rudra Loka is the place dedicated to Lord Shiva completely and is also known as Shiva Loka. As per beliefs, it is the dwelling of Lord Shiva. It is believed that, Lord Viswakarma built Rudra Loka in a dream with golden gems. There is a doorway of lion with two gate-keepers dressed in Shiva’s way of clothing. It is said that, Lord Shiva along with his consort Goddess Parvati resides in Rudra Loka.
