Chandraketu is the son of Lakshmana and king of Chandravaktra, a country near the Himalaya. Urmila is the mother of Chandraketu. When Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile, he asked Bharata that both the sons of Lakshmana i, e, Angada and Chandraketu should be coronated like the sons of Bharata. At this, Bharata said that Chandraketu should be made the king of the region known as Chandrakant.
