Chandogya Upanishad is one of the oldest Upanishad written on the Vedic Brahmana period about ninth to eighth century BC. Chandogya Upanishad is associated with Sama Veda. It is ranked ninth in the Muktika canon of hundred and eight Upanishadas. The 23rd Khanda of Chapter Seven of Chandogya Upanishad states that the infinite is Bliss. Narada had approached Sanatkumara to know about the real Self or the Supreme Brahman and upon being instructed he was satisfied with the knowledge. Sanatkumara explained him further about the Bliss. He told him that there can be no bliss in anything finite. Bliss can only be found in the Infinite. One must thus, desire to understand the Infinite. On knowing this Narada desired to understand the Infinite.
