Chandogya Upanishad is one of the oldest Upanishad written on the Vedic Brahmana period about ninth to eighth century BC. Chandogya Upanishad is associated with Sama Veda. It is ranked ninth in the Muktika canon of hundred and eight Upanishadas. The 23rd Khanda of Chapter Five of Chandogya Upanishad states about the Udana. The fifth oblation that the eater presents must be offered by reciting the mantras in the name of Samana. Then the Udana is satisfied. Once the Udana is satisfied the skin is satisfied, the skin being satisfied, the air is satisfied, the air being satisfied, the akasa is satisfied. The akasa being satisfied, everything under the air and under the akasa is satisfied. They being satisfied, the eater is satisfied with offspring, cattle, food, brightness of the body and the light of Brahman.
