22nd Khanda of Chapter Seven of Chandogya Upanishad states that concentration depends upon bliss. It deals with the conversation between Narada and Sanatkumara.

22nd Khanda of Chapter Seven, Chandogya UpanishadChandogya Upanishad, one of the oldest Upanishad has been written during the Vedic Brahmana period. Chandogya Upanishad is associated with Sama Veda. Chandogya Upanishad is the part of Chandogya Brahman that contains ten chapters. The 22nd Khanda of Chapter Seven of Chandogya Upanishad states that concentration depends upon bliss. Narada had approached Sanatkumara to know about the real Self or the Supreme Brahman and upon being instructed he was satisfied with the knowledge. However, Sanatkumara explained him further about one`s duties. He told him that one perform one`s duties only when he obtains bliss. A person cannot obtain bliss who does not perform his duties. Duties can only be performed if one obtains bliss. Thus, one must desire to understand bliss. On knowing this Narada desired to understand bliss.
