Chandogya Upanishad, one of the oldest Upanishad has been ranked ninth in the Muktika canon of hundred and eight Upanishadas and is linked with the Sama Veda. The Upanishad has been written during the Vedic Brahmana period. The 17th Khanda of Second Chapter of Chandogya Upanishad states about meditation on the Sakvari Saman. Here the earth is the syllable Him, the sky is the Prastava, the heaven is the Udgitha, the quarters are the Pratihara and the sea is the Nidhana. It is the Sakvari Saman as interwoven in the worlds. One who knows this and realises the Sakvari Saman as interwoven in the worlds possesses the world and lives his life completely. He rejoices his life completely and glows with radiance. He commands respect among his children and also owns cattle.
