Early Life of Anil Kapoor
Anil Kapoor was born on December 24, 1959 into a Punjabi family in Tilak Nagar, Mumbai. His father Surinder Kapoor was a film producer and mother Nirmal, a housemaker. He did his schooling from Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School – Chembur and later from St. Xavier"s College, Mumbai. Anil Kapoor"s elder brother Boney Kapoor is film producer while his younger brother Sanjay Kapoor is an actor.

Career of Anil Kapoor
Anil Kapoor began his career as a supporting role in Umesh Mehra"s "Hamare Tumhare" in the year 1979 and did trivial roles in "Hum Paanch" and "Shakti". He made his first debut film and then starred as a lead actor in Telugu film, "Vamsa Vruksham" in 1980. However, he made his debut in a leading role in Bollywood with the movie "Woh Saat Din" in the year 1983. He then made his Kannada film debut with Mani Ratnam"s "Pallavi Anu Pallavi" in 1984. He has won many accolades for his performances in "Mashaal" and "Saaheb". Both the movies were smashing hits at the box office. Next he went on to star in many hit movies like "Janbaaz", "Insaaf Ki Awaaaz", "Chameli Ki Shaadi" and many more. He established himself on a strong footing with his runaway success, "Meri Jung" opposite Amrish Puri. With blockbusters like Shekhar Kapur"s science fiction "Mr. India", "Ram Lakhan", "Eashwar", "Parinda", he created a special niche for himself in Bollywood.

Anil Kapoor, Bollywood ActorIn the 1990s he gave another set of hits like "Kishen Kanhaiya", "Ghar Ho To Aisa", "Awaargi", "Lamhe", "Khel" and so on. His two movies, "Beta" opposite Madhuri Dixit and "1942: A Love Story" with Manisha Koirala were blockbusters. Following these movies he also starred in "Judaai", "Deewana Mastana", "Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hai" and "Taal" all of which were booming at the box office.

The actor"s some of the powerhouse performances in the dual role movie "Bulandi", critically acclaimed Rajkumar Santoshi"s "Pukar", "Nayak", "Aarman", "Calcutta Mail", "Musafir" and "My Wife"s Murder". Anil Kapoor proved his versatility by acting in the comedy flicks like "No Entry", "Welcome" and many more. The actor was well appreciated in the Abbas-Mustan"s thriller "Race" and "Yuvraj". In the International domain he starred in the Oscar winning movie "Slumdog Millionaire" in 2008 and received rave reviews for his acting skills.

Anil Kapoor won his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in "Mashal". He next won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in "Tezaab" in 1988 and also in 1992 for "Beta". He again won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance for "Virasat" in 1997 and the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for "Biwi No.1" and "Taal" in 1999. Anil Kapoor won the much coveted National Film Award for Best Actor for his commendable performance in "Pukar". For the film "Slumdog Millionaire" he won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. He also received another Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor role for "Dil Dhadakne Do" in 2015.

Personal Life of Anil Kapoor Anil Kapoor married a model, Sunita Bhambhani in 1984. The couple has two daughters and a son named Harshwardhan Kapoor. His elder daughter is actress Sonam Kapoor and the younger daughter is Rhea Kapoor who is a producer in Mumbai.
