![]() Early Life and Education of Karan Wahi Karan Wahi was born on June 9, 1986, into a Punjabi Sikh Khatri family in Mohali city, Punjab. He completed his schooling from St. Mark's Senior Secondary Public School and higher education at IILM Institute, Delhi University. Cricket Career of Karan Wahi During his school days, Karan Wahi represented St. Mark's Senior Secondary Public School and was a top scorer at Zonal tournaments in football and cricket. In 2003, he was selected for the Indian under-19 cricket team for Delhi, alongside Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. Later he left cricket after a major injury and enrolled himself in a marketing course for joining his father's business. Acting Career of Karan Wahi In 2004, Karan Wahi posted his pictures on social networking site and the makers Rose Audio Visuals, of the TV show ‘Remix’ took notice of him and called him for an audition for the character Ranveer. He got selected and portrayed the lead role of Ranveer Sisodia, an angry lover boy, opposite Shweta Gulati. The series was based upon the lives of 12th-grade students in an elite school for the rich and famous and scholarship students from the poorer families. His performance in the show earned him the Indian Telly Award for Best Male Newcomer. ![]() After a long break from fiction shows, Wahi make a comeback in fiction opposite Mugdha Chaphekar, in the lead role of Rajveer in the 2009 Colors TV's soap opera ‘Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari’. He next featured in the second season of Cinevistaas Limited Productions' medical drama series ‘Dill Mill Gayye’, alongside an ensemble cast of Sehban Azim, Shilpa Anand, Moulshree Sachdeva, Neha Jhulka. The story revolved around five medical interns in a hospital. It was aired on September 22, 2009 and telecast on Star One. Owing to date issues with his new show on Star Plus, Wahi signed a contract for at least four months to play a boy-next-door character in romance-drama series ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’, alongside Kritika Kamra and Mohnish Behl, portraying the supporting role of a fun-loving guy Rohan in mid December 2011 on Sony Entertainment Television. In 2012, Wahi was chosen to play the pivotal role of Ritesh in Shontara Productions' anthology series ‘Teri Meri Love Stories’, opposite Chhavi Pandey. The story is about Dr. Ritesh, a paediatrician who believes that love is the cure to all illnesses and not medicine. Trying to pursue his career in Bollywood films, he signed his first film with Yash Raj Films, for Habib Faisal's 2015 romantic comedy ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’, alongside Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur, and played the supporting role of Amjad. Later Wahi signed to play the male lead opposite Rhea Chakraborty, in the 2014 romantic drama film ‘Babbu Ki Jawani’, produced by Amritpal Singh Bindra under UTV Spotboy Productions.
