Himani Kapoor, singersBagging a music contract at just an age of 17 comes as no surprise when one meets the finalist of `Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge` in 2005. This extremely talented singer was born on 24 August 1988 in Faridabad, which is situated in the Indian state of Haryana. Her father Sudhir Kapoor is a businessman and her mother as an employee of the Department of Woman and Child Welfare. She has one sibling, younger brother named Paramvir. Her first brush with singing came at the tender age of five when she was so inspired by a group of kirtan singers that she wished to join them. When she was 9 years old she started classical training with Smt. Anju Munjal who has been her guru ever since. After that she also received training from Shri Bhavdeepji Jaipurwale in vocal techniques and Shri Kuldip Singh in light music.

During her long stay in Mumbai in the year 2000-01 she was trained by Suresh Wadkar in classical music. She is open to display her singing talent in all genres but she has a special place for devotional, spiritual and patriotic songs in her heart. The singing sensations who top her list of inspirations are Asha Bhosle, Sunidhi Chauhan and Richa Sharma. Her favorite cuisines include the dishes prepared by her mom like chana, dal and green leafy vegetables. Her hobbies include painting, basketball, dancing, driving. The colors for which she shares a special fascination are red, white and black. Her favorite vacation spots are London, Mauritius and Paris. She has extreme weakness for chocolates. She is crazy about music and rain dance. Her favorite actor is Salman Khan and the name of her favorite actress is Sushmita Sen.

As an individual Himani Kapoor is fiercely independent but also caring for those who matters a lot to her. Her daunting courage and steely determination helped her to achieve her goals. She gives all the credit to her best friends Akaash and Shelly for her daredevil attitude. Besides being an accomplished singer, Himani Kapoor is also a talented painter. In her spare time also she creates painting and sculptures and would have love to become an architect if not a professional singer. She is very much in love with sports and other physical activities like football, basketball and dancing. Before shooting to limelight in the contest of `Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge 2005` she was declared winner in several other contests. With her father she lives in the tinsel town and has joined private classes to complete her coursework.

She is currently working on many projects and tours extensively with other Bollywood artists all across Indian and different parts of the globe for her shows. She was also thrilled to bag an offer by Aadesh Shrivastava in Kalpana Lajmi`s next film Chingaari and is extremely delighted to sing for the sensational diva Sushmita Sen. The huge fan following of Himani Kapoor adore her and would love to see her emerge as the next greatest singing sensation of India in the years to come.
