Zee Jagran represents a mix of seven elements called Joy, Peace, Celebration, Hope, Silence, Balance and Awakening that form the core a happy and content living. Jagran was primarily positioned as a religious entertainment channel as opposed to a generic religious channel. The base was later broadened from a conventional target audience [55 years and above] to rope in the 30-plus segment as well as children. Apart from their regular prime time discourses they have a mix of mythological movies, religious programmes on organic living, and interactive astro-solutions in English and Hindi. They have select gurus like Satya Sai Baba, Guru Ma, Sudhanshuji Maharaj, Morari Bapu and Brahmakumari for their channel. Jagran`s USP is religious entertainment. It is difficult for people to watch discourse after discourse without break. That`s why they have Ramayana, Mahabharata and Jai Santoshi Maa. The channel also started a new series `JAHAN JAHAN RAM CHARAN CHALI JAHIN`. The serial is presented each Sunday morning from 9 to 9.30 am. It traces the 15, 000 kms yatra undertaken by Lord Rama during his 14 years exile from Ayodhya till return to Ayodhya after killing Ravana. The channel also has a discourse on various aspects of astrology by Ashok Bambi, who has been a regular column in The Hindustan Times for the last five years where he writes on national and international personalities under the column called `Star treck`.

The most popular faces on Aastha, Sanskar, Sadhna and Jagran, targeting the Hindus, are Sant Morari Bapu, Guru Maa, Sukhbodhanandji, Sudhanshu Maharaj and Asaram Bapu. Most of the funds for religious channels come from advertisers. As of now Jagran has half a dozen advertisers like MDH, Night Queen and Ashok Masalas coming in but soon they claim to have more clients in the fast moving commercial goods category. Telecom players and makers of specialized health products and gemstones are also interested in advertising. Jagran also has programmes like "The Great Indian Astro Show", "The Tarot Show", "Nirvana at 9", etc. to attract the attention of those looking for interactive shows on these subjects. The channel believes that today`s youth does not want to be preached but wants answers to their direct questions. For instance, The Tarot Show where youths in the age group of 22-23 years are often called to ask questions.
