Yogesh Samsi

Yogesh Samsi is a famous Tabla player in the sphere of Hindustani classical music who was trained in this instrument by Ustad Allarakha Khan.

Yogesh Samsi, Indian Classical InstrumentalistYogesh Samsi is a recognized Indian tabla player who has received training in this field from influential maestros. He has specialized in the genre of Hindustani classical music and was born to Pandit Dinkar Kaikini, a reputed vocalist of the country. Yogesh Samsi was introduced to the world of music by his father Dinkar Kaikini, when he was just six years old. He had started imbibing lessons in tabla from Pandit H. Taranth Rao at a tender age of four.

Much later, Yogesh Samsi started receiving lessons in tabla from Ustad Allarakha Khan, who is considered to be amongst the most famous percussionists. Samsi spent as much as 23 years under the guidance of Allarakha. Yogesh Samsi is known to have delivered performances along with globally acclaimed vocalists, dancers and instrumentalists of the nation comprising Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Ustad Vilayat Khan, Pandit Dinkar Kaikini, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ken Zuckerman and Pandit Shivkumar Sharma.

Yogesh Samsi tries his level best to keep alive his guru`s words by keeping intact the tradition of presenting the solo performance of the tabla. This renowned tabla player has also participated in the first episode of "Jalsa"broadcasted by apopular channel, accompanied by Takahiro Arai and Shivkumar Sharma.
