Visayavatt va pravrttih utpanna manasah sthiti nibandhanl

This is the thirty-fifth yogic sutra that is contained in the Patanjali Yoga Sutras.

visayavatt va pravrttih utpanna manasah sthiti nibandhanl sutra shows the way in which one can accomplish a state of heightened consciousness, in processes like devotedness and allegiance towards the object of passion. The more one practices, the more he is likely to gain insight, sensitivity and stability in intellect. This sutra can be regarded the groundwork in binding one together to absorb the objective.

Or, by contemplating an object that helps to maintain steadiness of mind and consciousness.

One may equally attain an exhilarated state of consciousness by becoming entirely engulfed, with dedication and devotion, in an object of interest.

The practice of contemplating upon an object is the basis of mental stability. Total absorption in the object brings about direct perception of its essence. This sutra demonstrates how to develop awareness and sensitivity in intelligence.

In so doing, one can gain insight into the phenomena of nature (prakrti), as well as into the nature of the seer (purusa).
