Early Life of Vinay Pathak
Vinay Pathak was born on 12th July 1968 in Dhanbad, Bihar. He completed his schooling from Vikas Vidyalaya situated in Ranchi with the batch of 1982. He did his graduation from Allahabad University and later went to US for higher studies. He had also attended State University of New York at Stony Brook where he performed in a number of plays.

Career of Vinay Pathak began with bit roles in various movies. He however gained prominence through his comic role in the movie Khosla Ka Ghosla. He also earned critical acclamations and rare reviews for his movie Bheja Fry. His ventures also included television shows and the most eminent one among them was Hip Hip Hurrey. He produced as well as acted in the movie Dasvidaniya which narrated the tale of a common man bidding adieu before dying. He also anchored a television show called Oye, along with his good friend and co star Ranvir Shorey. The same duo hosted another successful talk show known as "Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun?" which was telecasted on Star TV. House Arrest on Channel V and Duniya Goal Hain on ESPN-STAR were other shows co hosted by them out of which the latter was aired during 2006 World Cup in Germany. Vinay Pathak later teamed up with Gaurav Ghera, Suresh Menon and Ranvir Shorey to host the show Great Indian Laughter Show which was telecasted on Star One. His television career also included shows like Cricket Crazy aired on Star Sports in India.

Vinay Pathak acted in movies like Aaja Nachle and Johnny Gaddar. His acting received huge appreciations through the movie Khoya Khoya Chaand under the direction of Sudhir Mishra. In 2008, he also starred in the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. His next venture was Pritish Nandy Communications` Raat Gayi Baat Gayi which received the Best Film Award at HBO`s New York South Asian International Film Festival in the year 2009. His next movie was Chalo Dilli which did not perform well at box office. He was also featured in the movie Antardwand under the direction of Sushil Rajpal. The movie bagged the 2009 National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues. In addition to these, his other movies include My Name is Khan, Oh, My God, Utt Pataang, Chennai Express and many more.

Personal Life of Vinay Pathak
Vinay Pathak is married to Sonika Sahay and the couple has two daughters. One of their daughters is adopted.
