The Indian movie `Khoya Khoya Chand` is a film by Sudhir Mishra. The film starts in the year 1954 and ends in 1965. The Bollywood movie `Khoya Khoya Chand` is a film about two young people afloat in the film industry. The film is based on the background of Hindi film industry in 50s.

The history revolves around the life story of two talented people. The movie is appreciated by a group of people who really understand films. The exhilarating epoch of the time period starting from 1950 to 1960 is clearly depicted in this film. That was known as the golden era of Hindi films. The film clearly shows different aspects of the then film industry including some talented people, some ego clashes between big stars, politics created because of some problems, etc. Hindi film industry is shown as a world of sparkly dreams as well as ruthless realities. He releases an actress Nikhat played by Soha Ali Khan from the stranglehold of an actor Prem Kumar played by Rajat Kapoor, and then begins to use her for himself. It means he starts casting her in his films and thus the story moves on. It also shows how a powerful actor manages everything in a film industry through his power. After seeing the film one can easily correlate the characters in the film to today`s cinema stars. Nikhat gets suffered from cancer because of excessive intake of alcohol. Zaffar goes somewhere else after giving a big flop to the industry. When Zaffar comes back after a long time he prepares an excellent script and named it `Khoya Khoya Chand`.

Zaffar wanted to cast Nikhat but because of her health condition she refuses to do it. But as time passes by she becomes attracted to it and gives her consent to do the role. She also marries Zaffar. She delivers her best performance before she dies an unknown death.
