Tourism of NayagarhThe district of Nayagarh is one of the historical districts in Orissa. The antique temples and the historical places commemorating the contemporary socio-economic condition constitute to be the principal interest in Nayagarh district, which also encourages the tourism industry of Nayagarh.

The Shrine of Lord Ladukeswar, popularly known as Ladu Baba is one of the principal interest for the tourists in Nayagarh. The region is popularly known as Hari and Hara and it is the religious significance, which constitute it as the important center in the Tourism industry of Nayagarh. Quite a good number of Shaivite shrine dotted the region. During the occasion of Mahashivaratri, a bulk of pilgrims assembles at the core of the city.

Odagaon is known for the temple of Lord Raghunathajeu, the famous temple of Orissa dedicated to lord Rama Chandra. During the festival of Ramnavami tourist flocked here to offer their worship to lord Rama. Dukiteswar, in its picturesque vicinity, houses a beautiful Shiva shrine, which adds a religious significance to the spot. In the tourism industry it is famous as a religious site, besides being an ideal picnic spot.

Standing elegantly on the banks of the Mahanadi, Kantilo is famous in the tourism industry for the temple of Lord Nilamadhaba on top of the twin hills with a surrounding of green forests. Besides being a popular picnic spot in Orissa, it is the religious significance, which entice the tourist towards it. Lord Nilamadhaba attains prominence in the cult of Jagannath Deva, one of the presiding deities of Orissa. During the festivals of Maghasaptami, tourist assembles here on a large scale to celebrate the festival.

Despalla representing a lushy green forest, with incredible reserve of diversified flora and fauna, constitute, it to be a significant place in the tourism industry of Nayagarh. Presently the Government has constructed a water project named Kuanria Dam. It is the exquisite view of Nayagarh district, which makes it as an ideal tourist spot. A Deer Park close by Kuanria is another attraction and it is now considered as one of the popular picnic spot in Orissa. Despalla is famous for Mahabir Temple. The Lankapodi festival is observed here with much pomp and grandeur. During the festivals a large number of visitors accumulate here.

Except the temples, the natural beauty and the forest are no less important in the tourism industry of Nayagarh.Saatkosia gorge, where the nature in its primitive wild disposition houses all the phenomena including flora and fauna is a rare place is a significant center of tourist interest in Nayagarh. Diversified flora and fauna that abounds the Saatkosia gorge is the key interest of the Saatkosia gorge. The tranquility of the place, sometimes broken by the sweet chirpings of the birds, enchants the tourist visiting here.

The Baisipalli sanctuary, abounds with wide range of flora and fauna borders the Mahanadi River along the Saatkosia gorge which also includes the Gharial Crocodile Sanctuary of Tikerapara attracts a vast chunk of tourists.
