Tirukkollampudur Temple is regarded as the 113rd in the series of Tevara Stalams Region south of the river Kaveri.
Legends: The Vilva trees represent the drops of the celestial nectar Amritam. Sundarar floated across the river to this temple when the river was in spate. This event is celebrated in a festival in the monsoon month of Libra.
Temple: There are several inscriptions here, and the Cholas made large contributions to this temple. It was built during the time of Kulottunga Chola I. This temple occupies an area of two acres. Its second prakaram has a five tiered rajagopuram. The Vinayakar in this temple is also of great significance.
