Thirumohoor Kalamegaperumal Temple regarded as one of the `108 divya desams` is located in Madurai District in Tamil Nadu. It is a Hindu Temple situated in Melur almost 12 km north-east of Madurai.

Thirumohoor Kalamegaperumal Temple is associated with a legend according to which when the Gods churned the ocean to derive Amrita, a drop of that holy water fell into that tank. The god then appeared in the southern direction of the tank.

Thirumohoor Kalamegaperumal Temple also known as Mohanapuram and Mohanakshetram covers an area of almost 2.5 acres of land. The temple is adorned with a 5 tier rajagopuram and is regarded as more than 2000 years old. Thirumohoor Kalamegaperumal Temple finds its mention in important scriptures like Padhitrupathu, Akananuru and maduraikanchi. It has also been stated in five important epics of Tamil literature and Cilappatikaram. Within the temple there are four prakarams for the devotees. The main deity of the temple is Kalamegaperumal in panchayudha kolam. Apart from these there are many other deities installed in the temple like Utsavar - Thirumogur Aabthan, Thayar - Mogavalli, Thala Viruksham - Vilvam, Theertham - Kshirabtha Pushkarini and Vimanam - Kethaki Vimanam. The main deity of the temple with its Prathanasayana appearance is exclusive of all the 108 divya desam temples. The Sudarshan Chakra held by the deity is quite prominent. The Chakrathazhvar is situated in front of the chakra while at the back is Narasingha Perumal. There are 16 aayuthams inside the six circles along with 154 letters. Narasingha Perumal is seen with 16 hands and 3 eyes.
