The novel is published and distributed by Phantomville, which is a graphic novel company established by Anindya Roy and writer-illustrator Sarnath Banerjee. The Believers depicts the tale of 2 brothers who live their lives in 2 extremes in the Malappuram region of Kerala. Gradually in the course of the story, one of the brothers returns to discover that his sibling has got involved in extremist activities. The graphic novel centres on the religious intolerance in the Munnar region of Kerala.

The Believers is the second Indian graphic novel after Corridor, created by Sarnath Banerjee. Abdul Sultan P P, the writer of the novel is presently employed as an as Assistant News Editor with Varthamanam Daily, in Calicut, Kerala. The Believers reassures the concept of an eye for an eye leaves two blind, to the extremist forces.
