Tata Steel Zoological Society in Jamshedpur is an initiative by the Tata Steel Limited as its corporate responsibility towards preservation of environment, forests and wildlife in the City of Jamshedpur. The City Jamshedpur is famous for its steel. Tata Steel Zoological Society provides awareness to the citizens here on both widespread and exotic faunal diversity.
This Zoological Society was established the Tata Steel Corporation in the year 1991. This Society is registered under Societies Registration Act, 21 of 1860 in the state of Jharkhand.
Tata Steel Zoological Society has a principal aim to manage, run, and maintain the Zoological Park. It is for awareness and education of the population of Jamshedpur and surrounding areas; research; conservation and captive breeding of birds, animals, reptiles, aquatic creatures, mammals etc.
In this Tata Steel Zoological Society, there is a Veterinary Hospital to look after the animals in this area. Tata Steel Zoological Park would also provide a natural environment for birds, animals and other creatures where they can live in simulated natural conditions and without any fear of loss of their lives. This park is well protected from the poachers and the local animal smugglers.
