The popular soap Rihhaee depicts the voice raised against the injustice meted out to the women-folk in general. It was in fact based on a very daring subject and was brilliantly executed by the makers. The various episodes of the soap portrayed scenes, which aimed at fighting against the crime of which the females become the targeted victims. It is regarded as a docu-drama and was set in an urban environment. It takes the small screen audiences on a journey into the lives of women who go through extreme physical and mental abuse, which sometimes leads them to forget their own salvation.
The half-hour weekly series Rihhaee also brings out the injustice with which these crimes are dealt and often the criminals are set free by the law. Each of the episodes in the soap is a dramatized version of real-life situations and ends on a note of hope. The die-hard efforts of the NCCW (National Commission for Crimes Against Women) are also clearly brought out in every single case telecasted.
The determined activists like Madhavi Rajput (played by Rajeshwari Sachdev) and Anupam Sinha (played by Nakul Vaid) works for this organization and deals in depth with the cases through three vital steps. First they proceed to heal the victim and console them over their miserable state. Then they move on to provide justice to her and at the end they create awareness through the medium. The main aim of this soap is to reach out to those women who are otherwise ignorant of these organizations, which have been established to relieve them out of their disastrous situations. It is in fact much more than just a typical `saans-bahu` drama and aims to raise the level of national consciousness. Sometime due to the urgent request of privacy the real identities are concealed.
