Sudarshan Bhagat, Indian PoliticianSudarshan Bhagat, the prominent Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), currently holds the position of the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in the Narendra Modi led Government of India in the 16th Lok Sabha. A two time Member of Parliament, he hails from Lohardaga constituency of the state of Jharkhand. He is also the lone representative of the state in the Government of Narendra Modi. In the 2000 Assembly elections in the undivided Bihar he was elected as MLA. Under the Babulal Marandi led NDA Government in the state of Jharkhand, Sudarshan Bhagat became the Minister of State. In the following Arjun Munda Government he once again served as the Minister of State. He is also a former Jharkhand Mukti Morcha member.

Early Life of Sudarshan Bhagat
Sudarshan Bhagat was born on 20th Oct 1969 in Tangardih situated in the district of Gumla of the Indian state Jharkhand to Shri Kalsai Bhagat and Smt. Manna Devi. He completed his education from Kartik Oraon College, Gumla University, of Ranchi and earned the degree of B.A. (Honours).

Political Career of Sudarshan Bhagat
Sudarshan Bhagat started his political career with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad which he joined during his student life as the State Joint Secretary, Bihar. He however joined active politics in the year 1995. From the year 2000 to 2005 he served as the member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly while since 2000 to 2003 he was designated as the Minister of State for Human Resources. Between the period of 2003 and 2004 he was assigned the Ministry of State for C.M. Secretariat (Independent Charge). From 2004 to 2005 he was the Minister of the Department of Welfare under the Government of Jharkhand. He was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in the year 2009 and on 31st August of 2009 he became the member of the Standing Committee on Labour. He was also designated as the member of the Consultative Committee under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in the same year.

Personal Life of Sudarshan Bhagat
Sudarshan Bhagat is married to Smt. Krishana Toppo since 26th Apr 2001 and the couple is blessed with two sons. He possesses a keen interest in historical and philosophical literature. Football and Yoga are his other arenas of interest.
