Siddharth Anand, Indian Movie DirectorSiddharth Anand, also known as Siddharth Raj Anand, is a well known Indian film maker who has directed a number of Hindi movies. He has also penned the script for many Bollywood flicks. Some of the successful Bollywood flicks have been directed by Siddharth Anand such as Salaam Namaste, Bachna Ae Haseeno etc. He began his career as an assistant director and soon achieved recognition as a successful film director.

Early Life of Siddharth Anand
Siddharth Anand was born on 30th September 1975 in Delhi. He is the son of noted film producer Bittu Anand who produced the hit Bollywood flick Shahenshah starring Amitabh Bachchan. His grandfather Inder Raj Anand was also associated with the film industry and had worked as a screenwriter. He wrote the script for about 120 movies including Ek Duje Ke Liye, Sangam and Safar. Siddharth is also the nephew of Tinnu Anand, popular Hindi film actor.

Career of Siddharth Anand
Siddharth Anand started his film career through assisting film director Rahul Rawail in his movie Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi featuring Kajol. In the year 2004 he co-wrote the script for the hit movie Hum Tum along with Kunal Kohli. For the same film he also worked as an associate director and executive producer. He made his directional debut with the movie Salaam Namaste starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. The film was loosely based on Hugh Grant and Julianne Moore starrer Nine Months. Salaam Namaste marked to be one of the biggest hits of the year 2005 rendering recognition to Siddharth Anand as a film director in the Hindi film industry. His second venture Ta Ra Rum Pum was in April 2007 which featured Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee in lead roles. The movie was a semi hit at the box office. His third release was Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008 starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Minissha Lamba and Bipasha Basu. It marked another worldwide hit of Anand. Siddharth Anand had a contract with Yash Raj Films and these three films were a part of it. His next venture Anjaana Anjaani showcased Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles and was produced by Sajid Nadiawala. Garnering a good opening, the film went to on to become an above average grosser. In all these four films, Anand worked with prominent music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar and the albums of all of them became quite popular. Siddharth Anand also worked as a writer for the films Salaam Namaste, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Anjaana Anjaani.

Siddharth Anand was married to Mamta Bhatia-Anand and the couple has a son named Ranveer.
