Early life of Shikha Sharma
Shikha Sharma is a B.A. (Hons.) graduate. She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Software Technology, from the National Centre for Software Technology, Mumbai and completed her Masters of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad.

Career of Shikha Sharma
She began her career with ICICI, one of India`s largest financial services providers, in 1980. She has been instrumental in setting up various group businesses for the company, including. She has worked in various divisions of ICICI - project finance, corporate planning and resource rising. She was also involved in setting up ICICI Securities, then a joint venture between ICICI and JP Morgan. She also served as MD of ICICI Personal Financial Services, which was responsible for all retail-asset products.

She was appointed as Managing Director & CEO of Axis Bank on June 1st 2009. Mrs. Shikha Sharma serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at AXIS Bank Limited since June 1, 2009. She also served the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer at Financial Eyes (India) Ltd. Mrs. She has also been the Managing Director at Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Ltd. since September 2009. Previously, she served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. until April 2009. She also served as the Company Secretary at IO System Ltd. from April 2007 to May 2007. In 1992, she was involved in setting up ICICI Securities which is a joint venture between ICICI and JP Morgan. She was also responsible for setting up various group businesses for ICICI including investment banking and retail finance. In 1995, she moved to ICICI Securities and was later assigned to J.P. Morgan & Co. She rejoined ICICI in 1997 as the General Manager in charge of the strategic planning and development department and also set up the structured products group. She has been an Additional Director of Axis Bank Limited since June 1, 2009. Mrs. Sharma serves as a Director of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited. She serves as the Chairperson and Associate Director of Axis Asset Management Company Limited. Mrs. Sharma served as a Non Executive and Non Independent Director of Firstsource Solutions Ltd. until May 26, 2009. She served as a Director of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. until April 2009. Mrs. Sharma served as an Independent Director of ACC Ltd. from December 13, 2006 to May 2009.
