Satish Kaushik, Indian Movie DirectorSatish Kaushik was born on April 13 in Delhi, where he grew up in Naiwala gali, Karolbagh. He did his graduation from Kirori Mal College, New Delhi. After that he joined the National School of Drama in 1978 and completed the course successfully. In later days he also studied at Film and Television Institute of India Pune.

Throughout his career he excelled in his studies and presently Satish Kaushik is a member of International Film and Television Club of Asian Academy of Film and Television. He is an actor, portraying some of the finest characters successfully in accordance with directing some of the hit film of the industry. He has also written commercial film in his long career.

Bollywood Career of Satish Kaushik
Satish Kaushik started his acting career in the early 80`s. He has given his debut performance as comedian in Shekhar Kapur`s Mr. India. He also co-produced and worked as an assistant director in that film. He followed this with a long and a successful career in Bollywood as a director, actor and writer. Besides acting in numerous movies including `Daddy`, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi to name a few, he also directed a couple of successful movies including Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai and Tere Naam. He is also a theatre personality. His character as calendar in Mr. India and as Chanu Ahmed in Sarah Gavron`s English film Brick Lane in the year 2007 are memorable of all. As theatre actor his most prominent role can be mentioned as Willy Loman in Hindi play Salesman Ramlal. In Kundan Shah`s comedy classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron Satish Kaushik worked as a dialogue writer.

This film also gave the industry two more prominent stars namely Urmila Matondkar and Jugal Hansraj. His first film as director was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja in the year 1993 with the hit pair Anil Kapoor and Sridevi for that film. His second project Prem was supposed to be Tabu`s launching film, both were box-office disasters, yet he continued his film making and finally got his first hit with Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehate Hain in the year1999. Satish won the Screen Videocon Award for co-writing and anchoring a TV countdown show Philips Top Ten. In the year 2007 in collaboration with Anupam Kher Satish Kaushik started a new film production company named `Karol Bagh Productions`. The first film of this production house Tere Sang was directed by Satish Kaushik.
