She created history in the arena of Indian television as the first ever winner of a talent show to have got a break in Bollywood as a playback singer. She was the winner of the Zee TV voice talent hunt show titled Sa Re Ga Ma in the year 1995.

Early Life of Sanjivani Bhelande
Sanjivani Bhelande was born on 26th January to a family of academicians. Her father worked as the Director of Education for Maharashtra Government and Professor of Sanskrit while her mother was a Professor of English by profession. Sanjivani has two siblings, a brother and a sister. She did her Masters in Commerce and also acquired a Diploma in Mass Communication in addition to the degree of Sangeet Visharad in music.

Sanjivani Bhelande became the first ever winner of Zee TV"s Sa Re Ga Ma who got a break in playback singing from a TV contest. Marking her debut in Bollywood, she sang all the songs for Vidhu Vinod Chopra"s Hindi flick Kareeb. She also bagged the Ashirwad Best Playback Singer Award for the song "Chori Chori Jab Nazrein Mili" in the movie. She also earned the nomination for the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award in the year 1999. She has worked with many famed music directors of the film industry including Himesh Reshammiya, A. R. Rahman, Sandesh Shandilya and others. Other popular songs voiced by Sanjivani include "Nikamma Kiya" from Kya Dil Ne Kaha, "Chidiya Main Hoti" from Nayak, "Yara Rub Russ Jane De" from Socha Na Tha, "Makhmali Yeh Badan" from Road, "Uljhano Ko" from Rules and many more.

Sanjivani has also formed her own live band titled Sanjh Sanjivani with which she has performed in over 1000 concerts all around the globe. Classical based songs are her forte. She has also released a book and CD called Meera and Me. She has translated and sung the poems of Meerabai in English. The audio CD was published by EMI music whereas the book was published by Om Books International and their inauguration was done by Mahesh Bhatt and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Sanjivani has also recorded a number of regional super hit albums such as Ganesham Gungambhiram and Jai Shri Ganpati in Marathi; Junee Junee and Janamjanam in Nepali; Tooniga Tooniga in Telugu; Darshnam Paapnashanam in Gujrati and Bichiya Ro Ranko in Rajasthani. She has sung in around 11 languages.
