Sabuj Bon, West BengalSabuj Bon is a marvellous getaway located about 220 km from the city of Kolkata, which is covered by lush green vegetation. Spanning over 100 acres, Sabuj Bon is a favourite tourist locale, particularly for nature lovers since they would be welcomed by the charming sound of raindrops if they visit this region during the monsoons. An added attraction of this area during the rainy reason is the fragrance of the wet red soil which would certainly captivate its visitors. This plantation museum is near Kolkata, in Rasulpur village, Birbhum.

Sabuj Bon is now an eco tourism village nested deep within the Panchsowa Panchayat. It is about 13Km from Bolpur and 15Km from Shantiniketan. The mud huts with straw covered thatched roof are attracted by the tourists. The inside of the rooms were cool and provided the much needed respite from the midday heat. For those who want comfort and solitude can stay here. There are duos of ponds within the amalgam and the dining space is a covered area by the side of one such pond. The place, Sabuj Bon is moderate, tranquil and serene. In the morning, the chirping of birds is heard all around the place and at night one will see the fireflies are dancing on the top the trees.

Besides this, one will observe different types of trees like Panthapadap, Cycus, Mili, Obesum, Edenium, bougainvillea, Nolinas and others. Tourists will be treated to lavish sights of greenery which constitutes an area measuring about 80 acres and a gigantic water body which occupies an area of nearly 20 acres.

Sabuj Bon is in close proximity to the Visva-Bharati University in Shantiniketan. Cars are available from the area of Bolpur, Shantiniketan and Sabuj Bon is about 12.5 km away from this place if one travels by car. Though tourists can opt to visit Sabuj Bon any time during the year, monsoons offer the most memorable experiences here.
