The name `Reshikhola` is obtained from Reshi River. In the Nepali language, `Khola` implies a small stream. The region of Reshikhola demarcates the division between Sikkim and West Bengal. It is a marvellous picnic spot, since it is blessed with a spectacular landscape.

Located in Darjeeling District, Reshi is based about 37 km away from Kalimpong. Reshikhola is considered to be on the way to the Silk Route. From the area of Reshi, tourists can opt to visit Zuluk, Kupup, Pedong and Aritar or the Menmecho Lake. Reshikhola is situated about 105 km away from Siliguri.

Visitors can easily visit Reshikhola throughout the year, though it is advised that monsoons should be avoided since the roads become inconvenient that time.

Reshikhola welcomes guests throughout the year. However, it is better to avoid the rainy season, as the roads do not stay in proper conditions.
