Reotisaran Sharma is a famous playwright of Hindi thetare as well as Urdu Theatre. He was born in Hapur in the district of Meerut, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh in 1924. Reotisaran Sharma wrote a large number of plays for stage, radio, and television. Amateur groups produced many of them under his direction. His radio drama and television drama have mainly been aired on the national networks, Akashvani and Doordarshan respectively. He heads the Bharatiya Natya Sangh, an affiliate of the International Theatre Institute.
