Kollam district has a number of pilgrim centers that are visited every year by millions of people, which includes temples, churches and mosques also.
The temples dedicated to the Sastha at Achencoil, Aryankavu and Kulathupuzha are visited by a large number of pilgrims. The festivals namely Therottam and pushpabhishekam of Achenciol Temple celebrated during December-January and January-February respectively. The Mandala Pooja of Aryankavu Temple is mainly celebrated in December while Vishumahotsavam of Kulathupuzha in celebrated in April.

The Oachira temple that is dedicated to Parabrahamam attracts a large number of pilgrims, particularly during the festival called Oachirakkali in June-July.
The
Panthranduvilakku Mhotsavam celebrated during November-December of this temple is very famous. Swami Temple is another major temple where every year in the month of April, Vishnu Mahatsavam is celebrated. Thrikkadavur and Bhagavathi Temple, Ustavam of Mahadeva Temple are also some of the famous temples of Kollam. The Ashtami Rohini Festival fêted at Vadayattukotta Sree Krishna Temple also attracts tourists as well as devotees. In addition to these temples, there are Churches and Mosques, which have their own festivals attracting huge crowds, irrespective of their religious connection.

Some of the important Churches are St. Casmir`s church, Kadavur, Velankanni Matha Shrine, Tuyyam; St. Francis Church, Koduvila or kallada, Amalotbhava Matha Church, Pullichira or Kottiyam, St. John Brotto Church, Sakthikulangara; St. Sebastian Church, Needakkara: St. Thomas C.S.I. Church, Pattathanam and St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Sastri Junction. These are the name of the churches of the district Kollam.
Mosques:
Some of the most important mosques which are present in this district are named as Valiyapalli, Janakappuram, Juma-Atrh-Palli, Kolluvila, Jumma-Ath-Masjid, Thattamala, Muslim Jumma-Ath-Palli, Karuva: Kalamala Palli, Kalamala: Muthirapparambu Palli, Muthirapparambu and Siyavathummodu Palli, Kilikollo.
