Conceptualisation of Rajgir Wildlife Sanctuary
During 1971, Rajgir wildlife Sanctuary was declared as wildlife sanctuary. Rajgir was the main habitat of Royal Bengal Tigers but owing to increasing human interference, the species migrated to Sundarban area of West Bengal and a few tigers remained here. The preset population of tigers in this sanctuary is assessed 12 only. At present Elephants, Neelgai, Barking deers and Sloth bears are naturally habited in this sanctuary. This sanctuary is also well known for its scenic beauty and adventurous treks.
