Early Life of Rahul Khanna
Rahul Khanna was born on 20th June 1972 in Mumbai. He is the son of renowned Indian movie actor Vinod Khanna and brother of Akshaye Khanna, who is also a popular film actor. His mother Gitanjali Taleyarkhan is an ex model. Rahul Khanna studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Career of Rahul Khanna
At the onset of his career, Rahul worked as a VJ in MTV Asia in 1994. He continued with his job for 4 years and gained much popularity among his fans. Rahul made his film debut in Canadian director Deepa Mehta`s film `1947 Earth`. The film was released in the year 1998. For his unforgettable performance in the movie the actor won a Filmfare Award as Best Newcomer. He has also worked in Jag Mundhra`s Bawander in the year 2000 and Mehta`s Bollywood/Hollywood in 2003. He also appeared in the American film The Emperor`s Club in 2002. In 2005 he appeared in his first mainstream Bollywood film Elaan. After a break from acting for two years, he returned in 2007 with the film Raqeeb. In 2009 he played a cameo role in the movies Love Aaj Kal and Wake Up Sid.

The Indian movie actor Rahul Khanna is an ardent animal lover. Rahul posed for PETA`s campaign to free elephants from the horrifying conditions they face in Indian zoos. Rahul also wrote a public letter to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra asking him to ban the entry of performing elephants into Mumbai after hearing of an elephant that was hit and killed by a truck. According to him to treat its animals humanely is the mark of a truly evolved civilization.
