Raghu Nath Satapathy is a Prahlada Nataka performer

Raghu Nath Satapathy is the son of Bankini Satapathy. Born in 1942 he was the manager of Prahlada Nataka Sangha in Khajuria, Ganjam district. Raghu Nath Satapathy took up the family profession as a child. He learnt the craft from gurus like Binayaka Sabat, Iswar Pradhan, and Chitrasen Roula. He was an exceptionally talented actor and singer, who later headed the Radhakanta Prahallad Narya Sangh, also in Khajuria.

Raghu Nath Satapathy was an outstanding instrumentalist on the flute, modal drum, and tabla. He has perhaps contributed most to the music of the form, recording his songs for the Sangeet Natak Akademy archives. He also knows Odissi and Bharatanatyam classical dances.
