Under her leadership, the Apollo Specialty Hospital has emerged as a major oncology referral centre in Asia. This is one of the few hospitals in India that offers bone marrow transplantation. She is the vice chairperson of Apollo Hospitals. Preetha graduated in Chemistry from the University of Madras and has a post graduate degree in Public Administration.

Career of Preetha Reddy
Preetha Reddy was a stay-at-home mom till 1989. When her sister got married and moved to Hyderabad did Reddy step in as deputy managing director of Apollo Hospitals Group. Preetha Reddy manages the network of highly skilled professionals. She is an advisor and consultant in combination with the State Government for the reorganization of the disaster management programme in the city of Chennai. Preetha Reddy is the first woman advisor on healthcare to the Government of India, and also a member of the National Quality Council, which provides the guidelines on minimum quality standards in Indian Hospitals.

Dr. P. Preetha Reddy has been the Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., since February 3, 1989. Dr. Reddy served as the Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals from 1991 to 1993. She serves as an Executive Director of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. She serves as a Director of Apollo Hospitals International Limited, PCR Investments Limited, Apollo Gleneagles Hospital Limited, Apollo Gleneagles PET-CT Limited, Apollo Mumbai Hospitals Limited, Pinakini Hospitals Limited, Samudra Healthcare Enterprises Limited, Imperial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre Limited, Apollo Hospital (UK) Limited and Lifetime Wellness Rx International Limited. She served as a Director of Apollo Health Street Limited from June 20, 2003 to April 19, 2005 and also served as a Director of Apollo Sindoori Hotels Limited.

Awards Given to Preetha Reddy
Dr. Reddy was awarded with the Outstanding Personality Award by the Indian Medical Association in 1999 and received the Good Samaritan Award from the Rotary Club in 1999.

Personal Life of Preetha Reddy
Preetha Reddy is the daughter of Prathap Reddy. She was married while she was in college after that she was a house wife for 10 years. Her husband is the chairman of the board of trustees at the famous Kapaleeshwarar Temple. Her two sons, meanwhile, are studying abroad. Her three sisters, Suneeta Reddy, Sangeetha Reddy and Shobana Kamineni are all serving as Directors in Apollo Hospitals.
