This temple is dated back to 1060 AD which is often compared with the fascinating and delicate architecture of Dilwara temples of Mount Abu. Among the popular sculptures these caves also depict Lord Shiva as Treemurti – the lord with three heads who is a creator, a protector as well as a destroyer. There are some more caves like the Khaneri caves and Karla caves that depict the influence of Buddhism which prevailed in the outskirts of Mumbai.

Along with there are some more places of interest around Mumbai that attract a number of visitors. These are some prominent lakes like the Tulsi Lake which is located at a distance of 41 kms from Mumbai. It can be commuted via Aarey milk colony which is another tourist spot around Mumbai. Aarey Milk Colony is one of the modern day dairy farms which is one of the largest dairy farms of Asia. Located at a distance of 35 kms this also serves as a natural garden which is ideal for picnic and tourism around Mumbai. Besides this Mumbai is surrounded with a number of national parks which include the popular parks like Krisnagiri National park that is located on the other end of Khaneri caves.
