The history of Nazirabad Thanda is unknown to the historians. But this village is closely associated with the Lambani Tribe. An accurate history of Lambanis or Lambadis or Banjaras is not available, but the general consensus is that they fought for Prithvi Raj Chauhan against Muhammad of Ghor in the Battle of Tarain. The tribal people of Lambanis originally were Rajputs who migrated to southern parts of India for trade and agriculture. They settled in the southern or central area and slowly detached themselves from Rajasthan. Over time, the Lambanis adopted the local culture of Telangana. The Banjara are together with the Domba, sometimes called the "Gypsies of India".

The Lambadi customs, language and dress indicate they originated from Rajasthan. They live in settlements called Tandas. Historically, they lived in zupadas (huts), but now many of them live in towns and cities. They have a unique culture and dance form and often find occasion to gather, sing and dance that is mixed with Rajasthani Dance and South Indian Dance. The trail of the Lambadi tribe can be traced through their language as they borrow words from Rajasthani language, Gujarati language and Marathi language. The language spoken by the Lambanis who settled in the Yavatmal District, of Vidarbha, Maharashtra is a mixture of Hindi language, Rajasthani language and Marathi language.

Costumes of the people in Nazirabad Thanda
Women wear colourful costumes, with mirror chips and coins, such as Phetiya (a Ghagra) and Kanchalli (a top) and adorn their hands with tattoos. Women put thick bangles on their arms (Patli). Their accessories are silver rings, coins, chains and hair pleats tied together at the end by Chotla. Men wear Dhoti and Kurta. These garments were designed for protection from the harsh desert climate, as well as to distinguish them from other tribes. Lambadi dance, originating from Anupu Village near Nagarjunakonda, is a special form of dance of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In this style, the colourful and jewelled female dancers dance in tune with the male drummers to offer respect to their local lord for a good harvest.
