Muthur is covering an area of 33 square kilometres, Muthur is situated in the southwest of Sivagiri at a distance of 10 km. and in the southeast of Chennimalai at a distance of 18 km. Kollankoil surrounds it in the north, Vellakovil at a distance of 13 kilometres in the south, Kangeyam at a distance of 19 kilometres in the west and Kodumudi at a distance of 17 kilometres in the east.
