Muruguma is a tribal village of Purulia District. Muruguma is situated on the boundary of Purulia and Jharkhand. Muruguma can be reached by car from both Purulia and Jharkhand.

A visit to the Kenkechi Hill and Muruguma Lake and the forest will make the trip worthwhile. The unique feature of Muruguma is the traditional dance performance of Chhau by the tribal villagers that is capable of intoxicating the senses. In short, this place is an ideal retreat for relaxation

Kenkechi Hill in Muruguma is the nearby attraction of this tribal village. One needs to cross a small mound and then walk along a village road to reach the hill. On the left side, one will find a beautiful lake known as Muruguma Lake. One will find that the road leading to the lake diverts at a distance of around two kilometres from the Muruguma Lake and leads to a forest. One can explore the nearby thick forest and catch a glimpse of the resident foxes.

The winter season is ideal for those who want to enjoy chilly nights. The temperature in Muruguma in the 5 to 6 degree Celsius and at night, it drops down to 3 degree Celsius. The tent resort is the only lodging facility available in Muruguma. Muruguma offers some modern facilities such as attached bathrooms and battery operated lamps. By means of tents, the resort houses a separate dining place offering dining facilities and a relaxing place where tourists can chat.
