Munmun Dutta is an Indian television actress and model. She is known for her role of Babita in TV comedy serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. This serial is India`s one of the longest running sitcoms. Munmun has also appeared in two movies namely Mumbai Express and Holiday. She is a trained classical singer.
Early Life of Munmun Dutta
She was born on 28th September, 1987 in a Bengali Hindu family. She was brought up at Durgapur in India state of West Bengal. She completed her school education from Durgapur. She received her graduation degree from a college in Pune. She was interested in music since her early days as most of her family members were into music.
Career of Munmun Dutta
Munmun started her career with modelling. While her stay in Pune, she used to participate in fashion shows. It is during one of her fashion shows, that she bagged a role for herself in a television serial. Thus, she made her television debut in the year 2004 with the serial Hum Sab Baraati. This comedy series has won many awards, including the award for "Promo for a Sitcom" at the Indian Telly Awards in 2004.
She made her debut in the silver screen in 2005 with the Singeetam Srinivasa Rao directed movie Mumbai Express. A Tamil comedy, it starred Kamal Haasan in the lead role. In the following year, she got to act in the film Holiday which starred Dino Morea.
Presently, she is doing the role of Babita Krishnan Iyer in India`s longest running comedy TV serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In between her movies and television serials, she has done modelling in many TV commercials and photo-shoot for the covers of various magazines.
