Early Life of Mika Singh
Mika Singh was born on 10th June 1977 with the name Amrik Singh to a Sikh family in Durgapur, West Bengal. His father Ajmer Singh Chandan was an amateur wrestler as well as a classical musician and his mother Balbir Kaur possessed a great interest in the arena of folk music and was also an amateur wrestler at the state level. Mika Singh grew up in the city of Patna in Bihar. He is the youngest of six brothers. Renowned bhangra singer Daler Mehndi is his elder brother. Mika began receiving music training since his childhood days and started focusing on singing at the age of 8. At the age of 12 he began playing Tabla and also learnt to play the Harmonium. Mika started getting acquainted with Guitar while he was 14 years old.

Mika Singh released his very first album in the year 1998, at the age of 21, titled Sawan Mein Lag Gayee Aag. The album earned him overnight success. Following this, he released many other hit albums like Ishq Brandy, Something Something, Gabru and Dunali. Mika Singh has rendered a number of chartbusters to the music lovers through Bollywood films as well as his private albums. He is known to be a powerhouse entertainer owing to his vivacious stage presence and enchanting melodies which grips the audiences. Some of the popular songs of Mika which went on to become smashing hits include Subah Hone Na De (Desi Boys), Desi Beat (Body Guard), Dhinka Chika (Ready), Dhanno (Houseful), Idn-e-Batuta (Ishqiya), Mauja Hi Mauja (Jab We Met), Singh Is King (Singh Is King) Pungi (Agent Vinod), Ganpat (Shootout at Lokhandwala) and many more.

In the year 2007, he took part in a dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2007. Mika Singh is also a famous name for stage performances. Some times the number of audience in his shows crosses the count 60,000. He has also performed in a number of music concerts and award functions. Mika has also appeared as a mentor, a judge and a captain for his team titled Mika"s Blasters in the music based reality show called Music Ka Maha Muqabla. The show was aired on STAR Plus.
