The major access point is the Imphal Airport in the south of Mayang Imphal at a distance of 16 kms. Thoubal - Mayang Imphal Road, which passes through this town, is an important road communication. Situated around the Loktak Lake wetland system, the Thoubal River joins Imphal River at Irong near Mayang Imphal.
