Marundishvarar Temple, Tiruvanmiyur, Tamil NaduMarundishvarar is a temple situated in Tiruvanmiyur of Tamil Nadu. This is a very beautiful temple but still hardly any visitors of the city come to see this. It is evident from the structures available in the temple campus that the temple belonged to the time of the Cholas and the Vijayanagar Empire.

The main shrine of Lord Marundisvarar (Siva) here in the Marundishvarar temple is facing west instead of east. The vimana above this shrine is situated at over 30 feet high. The shrine of Goddess Tripurasundari found here is facing south and belongs to the period of Rajendra Chola 1(1012-44 A.D.). There is a large tank with a pillared `niradum mandapa` (bathing pavilion) can be seen to the northeast of the temple. Recently this tank was cleaned and restored. When Hyder Ali, the Sultan of Mysore, invaded the area in the 18th century, the Marundishvarar temple got damaged extensively.
