Mardakukshi is situated amidst the forests of Griddhakuta Hill, near to Jivakarama Vihara. It is said that the place used to be a monastery during the time of Gautama Buddha.

History of Mardakukshi
Mardakukshi is famous among the history lovers because according to the folklores it was the same place where queen of Bimbisara tried to abort her child, who was later known as Ajatshatru, after hearing the prediction that said the child would kill his father.

Tourism in Mardakukshi
Mardakukshi is now a thin jungle and there is now a deer park that attracts the tourists of all sections. Not only Buddhists, this place is a cynosure to other religion also.
