It is higher than the national average of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 80%, and female literacy rate is 68%. 11% of the population is under 6 years of age in Manimutharu.

Manimutharu, Tamil Nadu The enthralling Manjolai Hills here is located at an elevation ranging between 1000 to 1500 metres. It is positioned within the Western Ghats Mountain Range and the Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve is situated close to it. Manjolai Hills is perched on the top of the Manimuthar Water Falls and the Manimuthar Dam. The tea plantation here sprawls across acres of land here. Several small settlements have developed around the hills. These tea plantations as well as the Manjolai Estates are managed by the Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd. The Manjolai area comprises of 3 Tea Estates, the Manimutharu Estate, Manjolai Estate and Oothu Estate.
